Derek SouterDerek has spent most of his career working in Marketing with blue chip companies including Scottish Radio Holdings (1983-1985), Daily Record & Sunday Mail (1985-1987) and Baillie Marshall Advertising (1987-1992). In 1992 he set up Brodie Duncan Marketing. And is also a Director of the following companies.

In 1999 he resigned on principle as Vice Chairman of Dundee Football Club due to the club’s then developing links with the “extremely colourful” Giovanni Di Stefano. During his tenure the club’s commercial income increased from £80,000 to near £1M

Derek is acknowledged as the driving force behind the site assembly strategy, which sees Union Street Properties Ltd and Union Street Investments Ltd control 100%, The Egyptian Halls- Union Street, Glasgow. And will begin shortly a £15M refurbishment scheme of this Grade A Greek Thomson architectural masterpiece. Phase II at circa £20M would see the creation of Mackintosh Thomson Mews, which would redefine shopping/ leisure in Glasgow and create a circa 200,000 sq ft arcade/Mews linking Central Station with Buchanan Street

Whilst Blackscroft Property is in the process of developing it's plans for a £2M development of it's site at Foundry Lane, Dundee.
